Every program at Santa Maria is a door. Food access connects neighbors to ESL classes. Language learning opens into employment. VITA returns real dollars to families who invest them in their children’s futures. The path from immediate need to long-term transformation runs through this community — and it starts here.

Food & Clothing
Food and clothing distribution is where trust begins. For many neighbors, this is the first step.
The path continues to language learning, to financial recovery, to a community where everyone belongs. Honoring the dignity of every person who walks through our doors is the starting point.

Education & Enrichment
ESL and work-language classes open pathways to employment, civic life, and opportunities that were always within reach. Santa Maria also offers Cuentos que Conectan, a Spanish-language family literacy program for adults and children together.

Tax Prep & Finances
Our VITA program returns money that already belongs to the community. Every dollar recovered through free tax preparation stays here — in family budgets, in local businesses, in the next generation. Last year, Santa Maria returned $250,000 directly to our neighbors.

People Experiencing Homelessness
For neighbors experiencing homelessness, Santa Maria is a place where dignity comes first. Food, clothing, hygiene kits, and bag lunches — and something less easy to measure: being welcomed, known, and met as a neighbor. Because that is what they are.

Community Engagement
Volunteering and leadership development opportunities strengthen the neighborhood we call home and deepens understanding and empathy across our community.

Health & Wellness
Access to healthcare resources, wellness programs, and mental health support is something we are currently exploring with partners across our community.
